ALN

The Team

Our ALN team is dedicated to supporting learners with additional learning needs and ensuring that every child can achieve their full potential.

What We Do

The ALN Department works to identify and support learners who may require additional help with their learning. Our role is to remove barriers to learning, promote confidence and independence, and ensure that all learners can access the curriculum and school life successfully.

How We Support Learners

Support is tailored to individual needs and may include:

  • Support and adaptations within lessons
  • Small-group or targeted intervention programmes
  • Literacy and numeracy support
  • Organisation, communication and wellbeing support
  • Individual Development Plans (IDPs), where appropriate
  • Working with outside agencies

Working with Learners and Parents

We believe that learners should have a voice in decisions about their learning and support. We want to work closely with parents and carers to plan, review and evaluate support strategies. If you have information you would like to share about your child, or if you have any concerns, we encourage you to contact us so that we can work together to provide the best possible support.
