The WJEC (Welsh Joint Education Committee) is the examining board that all schools in Wales have to use for the awarding of final grades. Normally, grades are awarded as part of an internal and external process with final exams being sat during the months of May and June.
Currently for 2021/22, it expected that students will sit a normal examination series, with invigilated examinations in the exam hall. There are usually examinations for a small number of students in November and January, followed by the full series in May/June.
Examination boards have reduced content for current Year 11 and 13 students to compensate for the time missed in Year 10 and Year 12. Information about adaptations and removed content can be found here on the WJEC website
